Minecraft Server Hosting in Europe (Frankfurt): DDoS-Protected Paper, Vanilla & Bedrock-Ready Servers
If your players are spread across Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK, France or the Nordics, a server in Frankfurt puts everyone close to the same central European hub. YN HOSTING runs Minecraft servers in Frankfurt with DDoS protection by Gcore and our Zero Lag Protection, so a random attack on your IP doesn't knock your survival world or minigame network offline.
Already have a community in Asia? We also have a live Singapore location (see our Minecraft Singapore & Asia guide). India and Ashburn (US) are coming soon.
Why Frankfurt for a European Minecraft server
- Central location. Frankfurt is one of Europe's biggest internet exchange points, so routes from most EU countries are short and direct.
- One server for a mixed crowd. German, Dutch, Polish, French and UK players can all join the same world without anyone getting a far-away connection.
- Protection that matters for public servers. Once your IP is on a server list, it gets attacked. Gcore filtering plus Zero Lag Protection keeps legitimate players connected while bad traffic is dropped.

Which plan should I pick?
- Starter (2 GB): vanilla or Paper survival for a group of friends, around 5 to 10 players.
- Advanced (4 GB): a public SMP with plugins like EssentialsX, LuckPerms and CoreProtect, or a light modpack.
- Pro (8 GB): bigger communities, heavier plugin stacks, or modpacks. For Forge, Fabric and NeoForge packs, read our modpack server guide.
Setting up your server in a few minutes
- Order a Frankfurt Minecraft plan and enter your
YN1-<price>code at checkout. - Pick your server software in the panel: Vanilla, Paper (best for plugins and performance), Purpur, Fabric or Forge.
- Set the basics in
server.properties:motd,max-players,difficulty,view-distance(8 to 10 is a good start), andsimulation-distance(6 to 8). - Add plugins or mods by uploading
.jarfiles to/pluginsor/modsthrough the file manager. - Share the IP with your players and add the server to your Discord.
Want Bedrock players too?
On Paper, add the Geyser and Floodgate plugins so phone, console and Windows Bedrock players can join your Java server. Geyser uses UDP port 19132 by default; open a ticket on Discord and we'll help you set the port on your server.
Performance tips for European SMPs
- Pre-generate your world with Chunky before launch so new players don't cause chunk-loading spikes.
- Use Paper or Purpur instead of plain Vanilla for big player counts.
- Keep view-distance sane. 10 is plenty for most survival servers; lower it before buying more RAM.
- Watch entity farms. Limit mob farms and item hoppers with Paper's config, they're the usual cause of TPS drops.
- Back up regularly from the panel before updating Minecraft versions or plugins.
DDoS protection: what you actually get
Public Minecraft servers are one of the most attacked game types. Every YN HOSTING server is covered by Gcore DDoS protection, which filters attack traffic before it reaches your node, and Zero Lag Protection, which is tuned so filtering doesn't get in the way of real players. Learn more in our DDoS-protected game server hosting guide.
Running a network or a bot too?
If you need a BungeeCord or Velocity proxy, a Discord bot, or a website next to your server, a Performance VPS in Frankfurt gives you full root access with Performance vCPU (boost up to 5 GHz).
