Fair Usage Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This Fair Usage Policy explains how shared resources work on YN HOSTING services, including anything we advertise as "unmetered". It applies together with our Terms of Service.
1. Unmetered bandwidth. We do not count or cap the data your service transfers each month, and we never charge overage fees. Your server shares its node's network port with other customers, so speeds are not guaranteed and depend on the overall load on that port.
2. Fair use. Normal use is always fine: game servers, websites, Discord bots, APIs, databases, development and personal projects, including traffic spikes and busy evenings. Fair usage only becomes an issue when one service uses a large share of a node's network port or CPU for long periods and slows down other customers.
3. Not allowed on any plan. Attacks on other networks (including DDoS), port scanning, spam or bulk email, open proxies or relays, Tor exit nodes, cryptocurrency mining, public file-sharing or torrent seeding, and running a CDN or streaming relay that keeps the network port saturated around the clock.
4. If your usage affects others. We will contact you first and help you find the cause or a better-suited plan. If heavy usage continues after that, we may temporarily limit the network speed or CPU of that service. Activity listed in section 3 may be suspended straight away to protect the network and other customers.
5. Your plan's resources. The RAM, storage and vCPU count listed in your plan are allocated to your service. CPU time is shared fairly between customers on the same node, as is normal for game servers and KVM virtual servers.
6. Changes. We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version.
