# Starting, stopping and restarting your server

Use the power buttons at the top of your server page:

- **Start** boots the server. First start may take a little longer while game files download.
- **Restart** cleanly reboots it — the quickest fix for most lag or glitches.
- **Stop** shuts it down gracefully; **Kill** force-stops if it ever hangs.

A restart clears temporary memory build-up, so if your server feels sluggish after a long session, restart it first before anything else.
