# Rust: install Oxide / uMod plugins

Rust plugins run on the **Oxide/uMod** framework.

1. Make sure your server is running the Oxide build (many eggs enable this from the Startup page; otherwise install uMod into the server root).
2. Upload plugin `.cs` files into `/oxide/plugins/`.
3. Plugins hot-load within a few seconds — no restart needed. Watch the **Console** to confirm they loaded.
4. Edit each plugin’s settings in `/oxide/config/` and permissions with the `oxide.grant` console commands.
